It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Kenny) William Woods, who left us on May 31, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on May 8, 1951, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert and Ruth Woods; he was one of 4 Woods Boys; Robert Jr, Fred, and Michael rounded out the group.

As a small child, they moved to Southern California, and he was raised in the San Fernando Valley, where he and his brothers got up to all kinds of shenanigans. His brother, Michael, has steadfastly remained his best friend, along with his wife, Kathleen.

In 1983, Kenny met the love of his life, Tracy Chessar Woods, in a small bar, and they became inseparable partners, embarking on countless adventures together throughout their lives. Their bond, strengthened by a shared love for family and friends, was a testament to their extraordinary relationship.

Those who knew Kenny will remember him for his infectious sense of humor and his sharp, witty one-liners, which brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. His ability to entertain, especially his hilarious imitations, created countless cherished memories with his daughters when they were young, as they would often plead for him to perform his routines again and again.

Kenny was the proud father of four daughters: Tina, Harmonie, Nichole, and Amanda. He cherished his role as a grandfather to seven grandchildren: Richard, Crystal, Hailey, Mackenzie, Taylor, and his beloved buddies Brianna and Kendall. He also embraced two bonus grandchildren, Alane and Allie Hanners, and was a proud great-grandfather to two adored great-grandsons, Elijah and Koah. He was also blessed with wonderful son-in-laws he was lucky to call friends Mark Hanners and Paul Cutter. His nephews meant the world to him as well: Kenny, Mikey, and Tony.

He spent the last 20 years working at Coffey County Road and Bridge, enjoying both the work and his coworkers.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. The family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
