Kenneth Dean Paxson, 88, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his home.

He was born April 10, 1933, west of Burlington the son of Harold S. and Nina (Laws) Paxson. He attended grade school in Oberlin, KS. He entered the United States Army in 1953 and served until 1955.

On August 28, 1954, he and Vivian "Harlene" Ashburn were married at Burlington. They became the parents of four daughters.

Kenny was a truck driver and worked with his brother, Carrol, for over 20 years. He then worked for the City of Burlington before being employed by the Coffey County Road and Bridge Department for over 20 years until his retirement in 1998.

He was a member of the Burlington Christian Church. He was also a member of Congdon-Kepler Post #38, American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen and Carrol Paxson; and a sister, Marjorie Baker.

He leaves Harlene, his wife of more than 67 years; his daughters, Cheryl Ann Mauck (Dean), Berryton, KS, Deanna Rae St. Clair (Don), Burlington, KS, Elaine Gifford (Chris), Waverly, KS, and Glenda Harlene Thweatt (Mike), Westphalia, KS; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
