Kenneth D. Craighead, 68, of rural Westphalia, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at a St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.

Ken was born on September 6, 1951, at Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of R. Kenneth and Agnes Dell (Forbis) Craighead.

He grew up in Jefferson City and graduated from Jefferson City High school. He graduated with a degree in theatre from Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, MO.

On November 26, 2014, he was united in marriage with Nancy Ann Morrow.  He became stepfather to Nancy's sons, Raymond Joseph Paul Harbour and wife Morgan (and sons Raymond Jr. and Jeffery) of Chipley, Florida, and William Boyd Butler of Ohio.

Ken had a long career as an administrator at Wolf Creek Nuclear plant near Burlington.  He loved the outdoors and was active in many wildlife organizations including Quail Forever, Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited.   Ken had celebrated over 18 years of sobriety, and worked actively through AA to help others on their journey.

He and Nancy attended the Scott Valley Church of the Brethren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a grandson, Jeffery Harbour.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Craighead, of the home;  by his stepsons Raymond and William,  and grandson Raymond Harbour, Jr.;  a sister, Linda Hickman and husband Kenneth of Washington, Missouri, and their son Christopher;  a brother, Russell Craighead and wife Diana of Lake Wales, Florida, and their daughter Shawn (Jonathan) and granddaughter Brooke; and other relatives and good friends.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
