Karen Jane Kaufman, 84, of rural Burlington, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.

Karen was born August 7, 1940, south of Gridley in Woodson County, KS, the daughter of Orville and Evelyn (Edwards) Ehrhardt. She graduated from Gridley High School and earned an Associate Degree at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS, and a Bachelor's Degree from Friends University in Wichita, KS.

On June 20, 1959, she and Raymon Glen Kaufman were married at the Gridley Methodist Church. They became the parents of a daughter and son.

Karen was employed as Chief Financial Officer for Susan B. Anthony Hospital in El Dorado and later as a CFP financial advisor for American Express until her retirement.

She was a member of the Burlington, KS, Methodist Church and was active in the UMW at the Gridley United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Chapter CO of the PEO Sisterhood, the Coffey County Hospital Women's Auxiliary, and had served on the Butler County Community College Foundation Board of Trustees.

Karen and Raymon enjoyed traveling the world. They visited Europe three times and New Zealand and Australia. They visited all 50 states in the United States. Over the last few years they enjoyed wintering in Phoenix along with many of their friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Kraft and her brother, Wayne Ehrhardt.

She leaves Raymon, her husband of nearly 66 years; her daughter, Nancy Navrude (Stan), Overland Park, KS; her son, Timothy Kaufman (Kim), Overland Park, KS; four grandchildren, Connor Navrude (Danielle), Lenexa, KS, Spencer Navrude, Manhattan, KS, Emily Kaufman, Wichita, KS, and Bethany Garnett (Anthony), Colorado Springs, CO; 2 great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Harper Navrude; many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Karen Kaufman will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Gridley United Methodist Church.

Inurnment will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Gridley.
