Karen Hunt, 82, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Karen was born August 17, 1941, at Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Charles "Mac" and Cleda (Hiatt) McIntrye. She attended primary school in Colony, KS. She later attended schools at Lane and Ottawa, KS. She graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1959.

Karen attended Beauty School in Kansas City, MO, and worked as a beautician in Lawrence.

She graduated from the University of Nebraska and Bellevue College.

She married Tom Hunt on June 19, 1976. They moved to Bellevue, NE, where Tom taught at Bellevue College. Tom preceded her in death on August 28, 1993.

Karen worked as an executive secretary for a heavy equipment company.

Karen is survived by her cousin, Beverly Riley of Tonganoxie, KS, and her niece, Cindy Reeves of Linwood, KS.

A celebration of Karen's life will be held at Vintage Park of Tonganoxie. Private burial will be in Quisling Cemetery, LeRoy, KS.
