Judy Elizabeth McCurry of Waverly, Kansas, passed away on February 14, 2024 in Burlington, Kansas. Judy was born on July 23, 1949 in Burlington, Ks to LB "Bud" Platt Jr. and Thressa (Mauer) Platt. She attended school in Gridley, Ks.

In 1965, Judy Platt married the love of her life, Steve McCurry in Burlington, Ks. With this union they were blessed with two children, Laura and Lance.

From 1974 to 1996 Judy and Steve owned their own business called "McCurry's Feed and Supply". After that Judy worked for the Ottawa Co-op until her retirement. Judy was also involved in many clubs including the Homemakers Club, Evening Stars EHU, God's Storehouse, and was a Station #7 First Responder.

Along with Judy's passion to help and be a part of the community, she loved to craft, go camping and fishing, and she held a special place in her heart for all of her grandkids.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, LB and Thressa, her brother Lowell Platt, and a grandchild, Angel McCurry.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Steve, her children; Laura (Allen) Schultz and Lance (Shani) McCurry, as well as her grandchildren; Heather (Walter) Hanks, Kalee (Lane) Ikerd, Mason McCurry, and Rylee McCurry, along with her great-grandchildren; Walter Hanks, Banner Hanks, Kennedy Ikerd, Scott Ikerd, and Nash Ikerd. She is also survived by a sister-in-law; Elaine Platt, as well as many other friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Waverly First Responders or Coffey County Cancer Support Group and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home.
