Joseph Knight Jackson (Jody, Joe), 68, of Hartford, KS, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, March 5th, 2023.

Joe was born on September 19th, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joseph N. Jackson Jr.  and Florence M. Lankton-Jackson. He spent a majority of his childhood in Northeast Kansas City before ultimately residing in Jacob's Creek, Hartford, KS. Joe started his career at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Fairfax KS, as a lineman and continued in several different machinery maintenance positions at HES International, and Mid-America MillWright. Joe finished his career as an over the road truck driver.

Joe started his family early in life, having his two children Jennifer Cramer and Brian Jackson. He then married the love of his life, Rhenea Docman in 1991, and gained three more sons Chris Docman, Aaron Docman, and Jeremy Docman.

Joe is survived by his wife Rhenea Jackson, his children Jennifer (Charlie) Cramer of Edgerton MO, Brian (Racheal) Jackson of Smithville MO, Chris (Kelli) Docman of Olathe KS, Aaron (Katie) Docman of Burlington, KS, Jeremy (Whitnie) Docman of Jacobs Creek - Harford, KS, grandchildren Ashlyn Cramer, Lauryn Cramer, Blake Jackson, Rylee Jo Docman, Karlee Docman, Olivia Docman, Bailee Docman, Bodee Jackson, Jolee Docman, great grandchild Presley Allen, his siblings Marsha (Doug) Ocobock of Lee's Summit, MO, Sheila Smith of Jacobs Creek - Harford, KS, Jack (Mary) Jackson of Emporia, KS, Mike (Kaylee) Jackson of Coffeyville KS, sister in law Frances Lankton of Lone Jack, MO, and a number of nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph N. Jackson Jr. and Florence M. Lankton-Jackson, and brother Jerry Lankton.

Many who knew Joe would share that he was very kind and would give anyone the shirt off his back; if he had one on. Joe was rarely found alone, he kept himself busy and surrounded by family and friends. When Joe was around you knew that he had a Pepsi in hand and his beloved dog Winston in his arms. His door was always open for whatever you needed. Be it a philosophical chat or a couch to sleep on. In Joe's spare time he loved pitching horseshoes (he usually won guaranteed six packs), playing cribbage, riding his hoverboard (in a speedo), and flying (losing) his drones.

Joe loved life and lived every moment to the fullest with a smile on his face and a personality that was contagious and electric. He never met a stranger and would make a friend everywhere he went. To know him was to love him and he will be forever missed.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS. Cremation will follow services.

The family will meet with friends from 1:00 P.M. Friday until service time at the funeral home.

The family would like to invite everyone to a meal and fellowship at the Hartford College building follow the service.
