John Arthur Williams 92, a lifelong resident of LeRoy, Kansas passed away at his home on Tuesday morning August 30, 2022.

John was born the 6th child of 9 children to Wesley SR and Pauline (Reinhart) Williams on April 12, 1930 in rural Westphalia. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1948.

On April 22, 1951, he married Wilda Lois Peres in Burlington. They have celebrated 72 years of marriage. John and Wilda had 8 children in which he boasted of naming them all.

John had a farming career. He farmed with his brothers, Wesley JR, Dallas and Paul Williams until their retirement in 2000. John was a firearms enthusiast and built rifles for many years. He and his brothers hunted in Colorado. His list of achievements include various carpentry endeavors: such as an addition to his home, and working of several of his neighbors' homes. He was a precise machinist, loved to garden, and attended many gun shows and music shows in Missouri with his wife Wilda once the children were grown. He had served for a time in the Kansas National Guard.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Wesley, Jr, Dallas, Roger, and Paul, and his sisters, Virginia Keinzle, Dorothy Taylor, Kathleen Winn, and Helen McCormick.

John is survived by his wife, Wilda, of the home, his sons, George (Norma) of Wichita, Dave (Shirley) of Burlington, Mark of LeRoy, Vernon (Christine) of LeRoy, Francis (Carrie) of Concordia, and Jaymie (Angie) of Gridley, his daughters, Janice (Jim) Krueger of Burlington, Kathryn Riley, Iola, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Center Hill Cemetery located at Quail Rd and 9 ^th Rd, LeRoy. A visitation will be on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
