Joseph E. "Joe" Rohr, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away early Thursday, April 25, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS.

Joe was born December 29, 1941, the son of Carrol J. and Nina D. (Freeman) Rohr. He was a life-long resident of Burlington.

He was raised in the family farming and cattle operation and continued working on the farm most of his life.

On May 14, 1989, he and Marilyn Sue Pratt were married. They operated several businesses in Burlington including the Cowboy Inn, the Nickel Plate Café, the Wyoming Club, and Little Joe's Restaurant. Marilyn preceded him in death on May 18, 2015.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carrol E. "Gene" Rohr in 2006; and a sister, Joyce Simmons in 2020.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Wayne Simmons, Eagle River, Alaska; 3 nephews, Joyce and Wayne's sons, Shannon Simmons, Jim Simmons (Roxie), Jermiah Simmons (Heather); other relatives and friends.

A gathering to celebrate Joe's life will be held from 12:30 P.M. until 4:30 P.M., with formal services starting at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2024, at the 4-H Building at Kelley Park in Burlington. Following services everyone is invited to stay for food and fellowship.
