Jimmy Dale Eccles was born on June 13, 1955 in Burlington, KS to Harvey Eugene Eccles and Juanita Bertha Errett.

He passed away on June 6, 2023 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS. at the age of 67.

He attended Burlington and Gridley elementary and high schools, before joining the army in 1972 where he served 3 years.

Jim received medals in national defense service, sharpshooter (grenade), and marksman (rifle). He was very proud of the fact he was a veteran and showed his pride being an American.

Jim worked in HVAC and trucking most of his adult life. He retired from Thomsen and Son Trucking in 2022. He loved rebuilding vehicles, smoking meat, fishing ( which I have been told not many fish were caught because Jim liked to talk too much) and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Jim was known to jump on his Harley with his companion, his dog "Maggie Moo" and ride as far away as Texas. That dog was the love of his life, they understood each other.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Harvey Eccles Jr.

Jim is survived by sisters Peggy Ogden of Olathe, KS and Barb Brumbaugh (Mike) of Manhattan, KS.  his brothers Dan Eccles (Mary) of Moore Okla, Bob Eccles (Stella) of Gridley, KS, and Dwayne Eccles (Priska) of St. Mary's, KS. also, many uncles, aunts and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on June 12th at 10:30 in the Gridley cemetery in Gridley KS.

Family and friends will gather at the Gridley community building following the service for visiting and a meal.
