Jewel Maxine (Hardrick-Burnett) Anderson, age 79, of Burlington Kansas, transitioned from labor to reward on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Burlington after a lengthy battle with diabetes.

Jewel was born on November 1, 1941. She was the 15th child and 8th daughter of Jefferson D and Tobitha J (Martin) Hardrick Sr. in Alluwe Nowata County Oklahoma. At an early age, Jewel was baptized in Lightening Creek Oklahoma into the Post Oak Flat Baptist Church. She attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959.

In 1961 She and Samuel L Burnett Sr. eloped, to this union 4 children were born.

In 1986 Jewel graduated from Coffeyville Community College. She worked as an administrative assistant, home health worker, cook, and was an all-around caring person. Jewel also held the title of secretary for the Lincoln School Reunion Committee. She was definitely a Jewel!

Her favorite hobbies included fishing, playing cards, dominos, and shooting pool. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Jewel was a member of many social groups and choirs including The Inspirational Voices Gospel Group, St. John Baptist Church Gospel Chorus, and the In-Crowd Women's Social Club. More recently she was an active part of Coffey County Meals on Wheels and loved her time at  Burlington's Senior Center.

Jewel loved the Lord with her whole heart and was proud to let everyone know it. She attended Burlington UMC until she was no longer able due to her health. She might not have been there in person but she was in spirit.

Jewel is preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 8 sisters, 1 son Samuel L Burnett Jr, 1 grandaughter TyRhonda N Burrell.

Jewel is survived by 2 daughters, Justina M. Decker and Charlotte D. Burrell 1 son Brian E. Burnett all of Burlington, 13 grandchildren (7 international), 27 great-grandchildren (2 international), 2 great great grandchildren Sisters Ethel L Colbert of Coffeyville Ks, and Gwendolyn M Meigs of Denver Colorado, and many many nieces, nephews, and cousins

Family memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.

Inurnment will be in Ketchum Cemetery at Ketchum, Oklahoma.
