Jerald Eugene (Jerry) Isle, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 4, at the Burlington Life Care Center. He was 82 and had been married for 60 years to Diana (Stein) Isle. She survives, as do their daughters Lisa Barns (Jim), Pamela Black (Marty) and Kimberly Kientz (Steve); grandsons Joe Kientz (Adaira), Justin Black (Abbie), Jeremy Black, and Jordan Black; one great-grandson Sebastian Kientz; as well as many other family members and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis and Ellsworth Isle and a sister Linda Keen.

He had long-term plans to do some traveling after retirement, but that didn't work out because of health issues; however, he enjoyed watching all the Western shows and movies on TV, loved going to vintage car shows - his favorite was the Ol' Marais River Run in Ottawa, and having morning coffee with friends.

Jerry started working after several years in college as a Physical Therapist for the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka; after buying a home in Murdock, Kansas, he worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita and did some freelance carpentry/cement work until moving his family back to his hometown of Waverly. He started his owner/operator trucking business with a 10-wheeler dump truck, hauling rock and gravel locally. Before retirement, he had upgraded to an 18-wheeler, still working locally, with Diana doing the bookwork. Jerry's work ethics were impeccable; he was well-liked by everyone who knew him; and he was a proud and caring father and a loyal and faithful husband.
