Janella Suzanne Crabtree, age 51, of Yates Center, KS, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019, in Yates Center.

She was born August 13, 1968, in Iola, KS, the daughter of Zeno and Mary Frances (Leis) King. Janel grew up in Kansas with 9 siblings where she enjoyed playing with her cats and cousins. She graduated from Yates Center High School as Salutatorian in 1986. Right after high school she joined a few of her siblings in Arizona where she attended Mesa Community College getting her Associates Degree.

In 1998 she married Thomas Crabtree who she then separated from in 2012 and at that time Janel moved back to Yates Center. Out of the marriage she was blessed with two kids, Kalee and Austin Crabtree.

Janel enjoyed spending every moment she could with her kids, from vacations to sitting on the couch watching a show or movies. Other things she enjoyed were playing games, attending her nieces and nephews sporting events, listening to music, watching her Chiefs with family, and was a fabulous scrapbooker leaving her family with lots of good memories.

She worshipped at Saint Tim's in Mesa, Arizona in her young twenties and thirties giving her a passion for the love of God and continued her love of God and worship at Radiant Life in New Strawn, KS.

She brought joy anywhere she went from daycare families, hospital staff, the community of Yates Center, and most importantly her children and family. Because of her joy and Christian values her life will continue to influence the world through our lives.

Janel is survived by her children, Kalee Crabtree and Austin Crabtree of Yates Center; her siblings, Rosemary Gilligan (Bill), Savonburg, KS, Mark King (Kenna), Phoenix, AZ, Carmen Scott, Yates Center, Gerald King (Rene), Phoenix, AZ, Charlie King (Angela) Yates Center, Martin King (Maria), Owasso, OK, Andrew King (Kari), Yates Center, Theresa Hurt (Shanon), Fall River, KS, Kerry King (Calah), Burlington, KS, Gary Crabtree (Janet), Colony, KS, and Paul Stephens (Cathy) Colony, KS; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Church.
