James Dean "Jim" Thweatt of Leroy, passed on July 29th, 2022, at the Coffey County Hospital. Jim was born on September 27 ^th , 1969, in Garnett to Jimmy Thweatt and Ellen Hoefler Thweatt.

Jim graduated salutatorian from Leroy High School in 1988 and went on to become a master electrician and start his own electrical business in 1991. He built a very respectable business in Coffey County and surrounding areas. He owned and operated Jim Thweatt Electric, LLC for 24 years before he went to work for Trimble and Maclaskey Oil as Operations Manager.

On August 16 ^th , 1997, he married the love of his life, Christina Dawn Burris at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe and the next year on October 21 ^st , 1998, had daddy's little girl, Cassidy Dawn Thweatt. Jim and Cassidy shared a very special bond. Cassidy loved going to work with him and Jim loved showing her the ropes and always left the outlet plates for her to put on.  You could see Jim and Cassidy every Saturday morning at Casey's getting their ceremonious diet coke and coffee.

Jim was an avid collector of Budweiser memorabilia, and he was known to love watching Nascar, the Tour de France, and any football game he could find. He loved his family to no end and would do anything for them and was so excited to walk his daughter down the aisle next month.  Jim and Christina would also be celebrating their 25 ^th wedding anniversary later this month.

Lately on the weekends Jim and Christina have been enjoying Grand Lake, Oklahoma where they recently bought a lake house. Jim loved going on boat rides with his wife Christina, brother Mike Thweatt, and sister-in-law Glenda Paxson Thweatt.

Jim is survived by his wife, Christina of the home, a daughter Cassidy and her fiancé Tyler Palic of Newton, his parents, Jimmy and Ellen Thweatt, of Westphalia, a brother Mike and his wife Glenda, of Westphalia, mother-in-law, Frances Germann Burris, of Hartford, Sister-in-law, Yvonne Burris Gardner, of Hartford, and brothers-in-law, Fred Burris, of Hartford, and Thomas Burris, of Burlington, and many other friends and family.

He was known and loved by many and will also be deeply missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington. There will be a Rosary on Friday, August 5 at 6:45, at the Jones Funeral Home with visitation following. Burial will be in the St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery at Westphalia.
