Jake Crystal Saubers Jr. was born to Jake Sr. and Lola Saubers on November 19, 1939 in Buffalo, Ks. Jake graduated from Yates Center High School in 1957. He went on to work at Pringle Ranch as a ranch hand. A job that he greatly enjoyed as being on a horse was his favorite place to be.

Jake married  Beverly Frogge in 1968 and had one son, Jeff. Jake later went to work for the KDOT and retired from there in   2005 after 34years. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He was often seen driving around Yates Center in his beloved truck. Jake was a storyteller and didn't know a stranger. Everyone seems to have a funny Jake story to tell. Please keep his memory alive by continuing to share those stories.

Jake was blessed with a very large, loving family. Jake is survived by his son Jeff and daughter-in-law Shauna and his grandchildren Manon, Jack, Landrie, Piper, Henry and Teddy, brother Royce and his wife Belva of Yates Center, sister Joyce and her husband Paul Schwindt of Mountain Home, Arkansas and sister Clara and her husband Dave Butler of Rockwall, Texas. Jake is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and Lloyd, and sisters Helen and Shirley.

In keeping with his wishes, Jake did not want a service. Jake made the decision to have his body donated to the University of Kansas medical school to be used for research.
