Ivan Ralph Hatch, 76, of rural Americus, KS, passed away Friday morning, April 1, 2022, at his home.

Ivan was born June 15, 1945, on the family farm west of Burlington, KS, the son of Ira Jacob and Velda Hazel (Stauffer) Hatch. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Gridley High School. He attended electronics school at a Wichita technical school and worked off the coast of Louisiana on a seismograph boat charting the ocean floor. He then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Kansas State University. He was employed by the State of Kansas at the office building in Topeka doing computer programming. He retired in 2001.

Ivan loved all things outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, hiking, feeding birds, he loved it all. He owned a Tennessee Walking Horse and belonged to an Endurance Horse Riding Club. He also enjoyed his hunting dogs and belonged to a gun club and took his dogs to trials.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Albert and Glen Hatch.

He leaves his brother, Wayne Hatch (Kathy), Andover, KS; two sisters, Alice Shull (Ernie), Oro Valley, AZ, and Ruth Casillan, Huntington Beach CA; a number of nieces and nephews, including Don and Pam Hatch who he had made his home with recently; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS. The family will meet with friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lena Valley Cemetery.
