William Harold Allen died August 8, 2022, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home, Waverly, Kansas.

Harold was born October 5, 1922, to Roy and Rosa May (Cokeley) Allen in Burlington, Kansas.

He was raised on a farm near a creek bank, so he loved to fish. Harold also enjoyed playing

basketball and later umpired many a team. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1940.

He served in the Army Air Forces during WWII for three years.

Harold was married to Joan Jauernig on October 16, 1944. They were married for 43 years.Together they had a son, Michael and a daughter, Diana.

Harold was a letter carrier, grocery store meat cutter, farmer, and City Service bulk manager.

He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. One of his loves was maintaining the golf course at Rock Creek Country Club along with Red Caudell.

He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. and the Congdon-Kepler Post #38 of the American Legion.

Harold was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Joan, a brother, a sister, nephew, and agreat grandson.

Harold is survived by one son, Michael (Colleen) Allen, Russell, Kansas and one daughter Diana

(Paul) Clarkson, Waverly, Kansas. For Grandsons, Matt (Mirjam) Phillips, El Cajon, California,

Mark (Debbie) Phillips, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Russell Allen, Ellsworth, Grant (Eran) Allen,

Ozawkie, Kansas. Eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 pm., on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Calvary Cemetery in Burlington, Kansas.
