Grace "LaVonne" Hatch, 85, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at her home.

LaVonne was born February 19, 1935, on the family farm in Woodson County, the daughter of Hershel P. and Grace Augusta (Englebright) Eagle. She attended the Yates Center schools and was a life-long resident of Woodson County.

On March 21, 1952, she and Edwin "Bud" Hatch were married. They became the parents of two children.

In earlier years LaVonne had worked as a secretary for the Sewing Factory and Black Jack Cattle Company in Yates Center. She loved the outdoors, caring for animals and her flowers. She had many talents, one of which was woodworking. She was very creative and made many woodworking projects. But her true joy was the time she and Bud spent traveling the area where he raced cars on just about all of the dirt tracks in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. LaVonne made many friends on those adventures.

Her husband, Bud, preceded her in death on June 22, 2005. She was also preceded by a great-granddaughter and two sisters, Thelma Offenbacker and Vivian Gaughan.

She leaves her son, Craig Hatch and wife Linda; her daughter, Brenda Louderbaugh and husband Randy; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin Eagle (Debbie) and Charles Eagle (Ula); and her two faithful dogs that she loved, Snookie and Spikey.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at the Yates Center Cemetery.

LaVonne will lie in state from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
