Gloria Ann Emmons, 89, of Gridley, Kansas, passed away early Saturday, July 07, 2018, at her home.

She was born April 9, 1929, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Zelma (Kimble) DeBoe. She grew up in the Emporia area and graduated from Miller High School.

On January 17, 1948, she and Irvin Eugene "Gene" Emmons were married in Emporia. They became the parents of five children. They lived in Lebo for several years before living in Virgil for seventeen years. The moved to Gridley in 1989.

Gloria worked as a nurse's aide at Madison Manor for a number of years and also was a caregiver in people's homes.

Her husband, Gene, preceded her in death on July 17, 2001. She was also preceded by a son, Mike Emmons, on October 26, 2016; an infant son, Steve Phillip Emmons; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Snovelle and T. J. Emmons.

She leaves a son, Terry Emmons and wife Mary of Burlington, KS; three daughters, Nita Morris of Gardner, KS, Cindy Dixon and husband Richard of Piedmont, OK, and Gayle Bittle and husband I.J. of Altoona, KS; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Cremation will follow services with inurnment in Gridley Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
