Glen Eldon Combes, Carbondale, Kansas, passed away in his home, January 25, 2023, at the age of 85.

Glen was born March 19, 1937, in Lebo, Kansas to Walter C. and Ethel L Combes.

He graduated from Burlington High School in 1954 and soon after joined the National Guard in October of 1954.  He retired in 1998 after 44 years of service, at the time of his retirement his rank was CW5.

Glen also put in 40 years at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) before retiring in 1996.

Glen and Ruby Mattox married October 9, 1955, in New Strawn, Kansas.  They had three children:  Terry, Ricky, and Bruce.

Glen always loved to travel, camp, and hunt.  Above all he loved spending time with his 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ethel Combes, his siblings Marjorie Crouch and Dennis Combes.

Glen is survived by his wife, Ruby, his children:  Terry (Brenda) Combes, Ricky Combes, Bruce (Lynette) Combes, and his siblings:  Keith (Linda)Combes, Gordon (Doris) Combes, and Ronnie (Margaret) Combes.

Services will take place on Saturday, February 4 ^, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS Visitation will start at 11:00 AM. Funeral Service will start at 12 PM, Burial will follow at Bowman-Adgate Cemetery in Coffey County, Kansas.
