Gilbert Martin Grames, 72, Burlington, died at his home on May 17, 2019.

He moved here 2 years ago from Three Rivers, Michigan.

Gilbert was born on January 23, 1947, in Vicksburg, Michigan, to Cecil Burl and Edna Pearl Hackenburg Grames.

Gilbert joined the United States Army and served from 1970 until 1975. After he was discharged, he attended college receiving a bachelor's degree in Speech. He was a teacher for several years.

Gilbert loved garage sales and auctions. He spent a lot of time sitting at the Old Dam watching the river and birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vernona Bondareuich.

Gilbert is survived by his two sons, Jason Grames and his wife April, and Matthew Grames, all of Burlington,  2 grandchildren, Malachi and Christopher Grames,  a nephew, John Bondareuich, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services are pending at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jones Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
