Gertrude "Gertie" J. Gosney, 85, Burlington, died on August 18, 2022 at her home in Burlington.

Gertie was born on July 10, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas to Phillip and Pearl Slater Fisher.

On June 25, 1955, she married Wayne "Red" Henry Gosney in Kansas City, Kansas. Red died on May 5, 2018.

After graduating High School she worked for a Drive in Theater, in Kansas City from 1969 until 1974, and then worked for Delden Manufacturing in Kansas City, Missouri from 1974 until her retirement in 1997.

She and Red bought a place at Jacob's Creek in 1979 and retired to there in 1997. The moved to Oklahoma in 2012 and then back to Burlington n 2017.

Gertie was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Kirk Manwaring, and a brother, Harvey Fisher.

Gertie is survived by her son, Bill (Paula) Gosney and a daughter, Jackie (Bill) Manwaring, both of Burlington, her grandchildren, Cale Gosney, Erica and Heather Eddings, Vickie Foster, Kyle Manwaring, Ronnie, Wayne, and Kenny Vogel, her great grandchildren, Chloe and Camy Gosney, Emmett and Rowan Lingenfelter, Ella and Sarah Manwaring, Frankie Ramirez, and Zach Rodina, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. The will be a visitation from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Inurnment will be in the Strawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Coffey County Cancer Support Group or Hand in Hand Hospice, a may be mailed to Jones Funeral Home, P.O.
