George Earl Hayes, 77, of rural Burlington, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, January 3, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 13, 1947, at Wichita, KS, the son of Lester E. and Betty Jane (Sidorfsky) Hayes. He attended the Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School.

He was a lifelong resident of the Burlington area and a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the former Eagles Aerie in Burlington and enjoyed many trips to the casinos. He was a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Charles Hayes; and a sister, Barbara Hoover.

He leaves his brothers Richard Hayes (Marjorie), Rose Hill, KS, and Steven Hayes (Catherine), Pataskala, OK; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of George Hayes will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. The family will meet with friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Wednesday.
