Florence Belle Madden, 97, Waverly, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Holiday Resort in Emporia, Kansas where she had resided since April.

Florence was born on August 30, 1923 in rural Vona, Colorado to Chester and Chrystal Chrisman Seaman.

She moved with her family in 1926 to Garnett and the in 1927 to Coffey County where she resided since. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1940 at the age of 16. She taught in a one room schoolhouses at Bean, Paynedale and Section.

On May 19, 1943 she married Elbert Madden in Burlington. To this marriage three children were born. Elaine, Wayne, and Sandra.

She was an active member of the Section Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and working of the farm with her husband. They enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage before his death on June 14, 2006. She was famous for her delicious meals and especially her pies.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bill, and Gary Seaman, and two sisters, Nellie Dawson and Roselma Mutzenburg,

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Dolsky, Louisville, NE, and Sandra Romig, Waverly, a son Wayne Madden, and his wife Jalayne, Waverly, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her family.

Graveside Services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the Key West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Waverly First Responders or Waverly High School Home Economics and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
