Evelyn Joyce Kimmell, 92, LeRoy, died on January 28, 2020 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Waverly.

Evelyn was born on July 31, 1927 south of Waverly to John and Olive Fern Kukuk Norman.

She graduated from Waverly High School and worked at the Coffey County Courthouse before marrying James K. Kimmell on August 7, 1948 in Topeka. James died on March 2, 2004.

Evelyn attended the United Methodist Church in Colony. She was a long-time member of the LeRoy Chapter of the O.E. S.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marilyn Dugger, a brother, John Wayne Norman and a sister, Adelia Ritchey.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Terry (Donna) Kimmell, LeRoy, a daughter, Marcia (Richard) Hunter, Dover, FL, her sisters, Iva Bowen, Waverly and Audrey Keith, Burlington, 5 grandchildren, Rustin and Garrin (Morgan) Kimmell, Andrew (Nichole) and Rebecca Hunter, and Amanda (Mike) Abasolo, 7 great grandchildren, Lexi, Trey, Kaiden, Jaxton, Oscar, Guthrie, and Orion, and other relatives and friends.

Services are at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. There will be a visitation on Saturday 12:30 P.M. until service time. Burial will be in the Logue Cemetery, east of LeRoy. Contributions can be made to the Colony United Methodist Church, and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
