Eleanor "Ellie" Rae Carley, 69, Burlington, died on March 20, 2020, at the Coffey County Hospital.

Ellie was born on December 27, 1950 in Emporia to Francis and Emma Lambeth Whinery.

Ellie was married to Kenneth Short, Sr. and had three sons. They were later divorced. She then married Donald Aeschliman. He died on December 13, 2000. Then she married Richard Carley.  He died on February 15, 2016.

She had worked various jobs during her life including over the road truck driver. She had worked in maintenance for the Emporia State University.

Ellie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

Ellie is survived by her sons, David Short, Garnett, Kenny Short, Madison, and Ashley Short, Burlington, three sisters, Francine Burke and Joyce Barnaby, both of Burlington, and Edna McGill, Virginia, and grandchildren, Donnie, Jonathan, Tyler, Felecia, Zoe, Kendra, David, and Jasmine. Other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the Virgil Cemetery, Virgil, Kansas.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Coffey County Cancer Support Group and may be mailed to Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
