Dean Edward "Ed" Reppert, II, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, on his 69 ^th birthday.

Ed was born August 20, 1952, at Garnett, KS, the son of Dean Edward and Martina (Tush) Reppert.

On August 14, 1982, he and Janet Lee Hoag were married at Burlington. They became the parents of two children, Rachel and Johann.

Ed worked in Emergency services for 40 years. He began his career as a medic in the United States Air Force, which he served in during the Vietnam era from 1970-1975. He worked at Coffey County EMS for 25 years starting as a basic EMT and then moving up to Paramedic. Ed felt it was imperative for rural communities to have a higher level of trauma care and was proud of being the first paramedic in Coffey County. While at Coffey County, he also worked several years as the Director. Ed worked for Johnson County Med-Act for 18 months. He ended his career as Director for St. Johns EMS serving the Berryville, AR community. Through the years, Ed helped and saved countless individuals.

When not working, Ed enjoyed boating and camping. He was an avid reader and talented woodworker. He took pride in building heirloom pieces for people close to him. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his grandkids.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Valli Sutton; and a brother, Clay Reppert.

He leaves Janet, his wife of more than 39 years; his children, Rachel Lenon and husband Zach of Hallsville, MO, and Johann Reppert and wife Joni of Burlington, KS; five grandchildren, Brody, Ellie, and Cade Lenon, and Jaylin and Jace Reppert; a sister, Vicki Holman (John); three sisters-in-law, Mary Renteria (Tom), Susan Fowler (Shawn), and Renee Van Nieuwenhuyse (Craig); a brother-in-law, Michael Hoag (Kim); numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved; many other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. Memorial graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 27, 2021, at Calvary Cemetery at Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Masks will be required at the visitation.
