Douglas Scott Mast, 54, long-time resident of Burlington, KS, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Doug was born November 17, 1964, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Jay Kay and Mary Lou (Steele) Mast. The family lived in Topeka, Kansas City, MO, and Raymore, MO, before moving to Burlington in 1978, when Doug was a Freshman in high school. He participated in wrestling and baseball in high school. He then attended Emporia State University before being employed by the Coffey County Road and Bridge Department for 14 years.   Then he worked for the Burlington Street Department as the Street Superintendent of the City.  On July 14, 2016, he and Carla Rachelle Seeley were married at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. In July of 2018 they moved Doug to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Doug attended and was baptized at the Radiant Life Church in New Strawn, KS.

In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing with his friends at Rock Creek Country Club, playing softball, and riding his motorcycle. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Kay and Mary Lou Mast and his grandparents, Orville and Luella Steele.

He leaves his wife, Carla, of the home in Lake Havasu City, two sons, Taner and Dawson Mast of Burlington; three brothers, Michael, Jerry, and Brett Mast of Burlington; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home.
