With profound sadness we announce the passing of Douglas (Doug) Kelley on July 13, 2020. He passed away peacefully at the AdventHealth hospital in Overland Park, KS from cancer at the age of 57.

He lived in Waverly, KS the majority of his life and worked for over 20 years at COF Training Services.  He was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church.  He spent the past 2 years living in Overland Park, KS and very proudly worked at the Papercrete Works program of Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) and Pie Five Pizza.

Doug loved all things big.  He enjoyed going on vacation almost as much as he enjoyed planning one.  He loved to mow grass and work outside.  He loved food and eating out at restaurants.  He had a giant heart and a kind soul.  He was outrageously persistent and a hard worker who liked to stay busy.  He never tired of talking about whatever was on his mind.

Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mildred Burton, and his paternal grandparents, Rollie C and Lola Kelley.

He is survived by his loving parents Keith and Brenda Kelley of Waverly, KS, grandmother Mary Atwell of Overland Park, KS, siblings Scott (Lisa) Kelley of Bourne, TX, Kathy (Randy) Schaefer of Waverly, KS, Jan (Stephen) Leighty of Overland Park, KS, Mike (Julie) Kelley of Waverly, KS, Elizabeth (Kyle) Hart of Overland Park, KS, many nieces and nephews, and numerous devoted extended family members and caregivers.

He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Due to Covid-19 social distancing, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
