Dora Louise Wiechman, 96, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.

Dora was born at home in Greenleaf, KS, on January 13, 1925, to Milton and Pearl (Hunt) Osbourn. She was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism in June 1936, at the Christian Church in Greenleaf with F.O. Reisinger, Minister.

She attended school in Greenleaf where she grew up. She was united with the love of her life, Raymond Wiechman, through holy matrimony, on June 21, 1942, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Barnes, KS, while he was in the Army Airforce. After being discharged from the Army in 1945, Raymond and Dora started farming and eventually moved to a farm near Barnes in the Maplewood community, where she helped him farm for close to 50 years. They would become the parents of three daughters. Dora also attended the Manhattan Area Vocational Tech. School of Practical Nursing where she graduated on July 13, 1973. She worked as a nurse for 20 years at the Washington County Hospital. Upon retiring, Dora and Raymond moved to Washington, KS. She enjoyed sewing and needle work, especially making quilts and other sewing projects with the ladies at her church. She liked gardening and cooking and baking for her family. She and Raymond enjoyed traveling. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family. She was a long-time member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by daughters, Karen (Bill) Hildebrand Conroy of Independence, MO, Marsha Wiechman and wife Patsy of Frankfort, KY, and Colleen Finlayson and husband Don of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Jeff (Monica) Finlayson, Ginger (Kerry) Klein, Bruce (Gail) Finlayson, Kandi (Matt) Ostertag, Nancy (Dave) Puffer, Ryan (Krissy) Finlayson, Tyler Finlayson; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Osbourn, Manhattan, KS; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington. The family will meet with friends from 9:00 A.M. until services time at the church.

Graveside services will be held 3:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery near Greenleaf.
