Donna Lou (Giesy) Kniss passed away on May 21, 2024. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 89.

Donna was born on June 15, 1934,  near Burlington, Kansas. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1952 and married Clarence Kniss on June 8. They had three children, Pam, Sharon and Mitch, and lived in Burlington until they moved to Kansas City in 1964.

Donna graduated from Draughon's Business College and worked at the U.S. Postal Service. Donna and Clarence enjoyed taking their family on vacations in their camper and also spent much of their time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Upon Clarence's retirement, the two spent their winters in south Texas.

Donna is survived by her brother, Jerry Giesy, children Pam Smith (Shermann), Sharon Cowan (Gary) and Mitch Kniss (Coral); grandchildren Paul Smith, Shelbie Carey (John), Greg Robertson, Brandee Stephens (Randall), K.C. Robertson and Mitch Kniss, Jr., as well as several great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, mother, Mamie Giesy, father, Bill Giesy, brother, B.R. Giesy, and sister, Edna Keith Stephens.

A graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery on Tuesday, May 28, at 1 p.m.
