Donna Kay Bottomley, 74, passed away Monday evening, August 25, 2025, at the Life Care

Center in Burlington, KS.

She was born February 1, 1951, at Eureka, KS, the daughter of Elwin Eugene and Letta Melvina

(McCoy) Phillips. She spent most of her childhood in Kingman, KS, and graduated from

Emporia High School. She lived most of her life in Emporia.

She Married Gerald Anthony Hageman on April 24, 1971, in Zenda, KS, they later divorced.

She and John T. Bottomley were married in 2002 and he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded by her parents and a brother, Elwin Phillips, Jr.

She leaves her daughters, Charlette Strawder (Wendell), Neosho Rapids, KS, and Connie

Thompson, (Pat) Elk City, KS; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernst Clark,

Arizona; other relatives and friends.

In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing, playing bingo and she loved animals. But, most of all she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in

Burlington, KS. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Burlington. Memorial

contributions may be made to the Burlington Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of Jones
