Donald Leroy Trader, 63, of  Gridley, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Newman Hospital in Emporia.

Don was born August 28, 1954, at Fairfield, California, the son of Robert Maywood and Carol Virginia (Ellis) Trader.  He grew up in California and attended Chowchilla High School.  He had lived in Kansas, California and New Hampshire, before making his home in Gridley.   He was married in Manchester, New Hampshire, and he and his wife, Ann Marie, were the parents of a son; they were later divorced.

Don worked in warehouse shipping and receiving for Caldor's Department Stores in New Hampshire, and had worked in the casting shop at Ruger Firearms.

Don was raised in a family of Christian ministry, and he attended First Assembly of God in Burlington.  He loved to read vintage Christian books, listen to Gospel music, and watch movies and Daystar Christian programming.  He also was a sports fan, especially of wrestling (pronounced: Rasslin') and Kansas City Chiefs football. He treasured his family and friends, who will miss seeing him in his baseball cap and flannel shirt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. and Carol Trader, and by a brother, Robert E. Trader.

He is survived by a son, Kristopher Trader, of New Hampshire;  Gary Trader and wife Pauline of Merrimack, New Hampshire; a sister-in-law, Rita Trader of Gridley; his aunt, Elizabeth Stafford of Quenemo; many cousins and other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Gridley Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Tim Hammye of Burlington First Assembly of God.  The family and friends will gather at the Gridley Community Center following services for lunch and fellowship.
