Dinah G. Skillett, 75, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.

Dinah was born January 18, 1947, the daughter of Roy and Mamie (Finch) Halpain. She spent her childhood in the Spring Hill, Waverly, and Burlington, KS areas and graduated from Waverly High School.

On August 10, 1968, she and Larry W. Skillett were married at Burlington. She had worked at the Golden Age Lodge in Burlington in 1967 and Larry's mother, Irma Skillett, also worked there and that was where Dinah and Larry met. Larry was in the U.S. Navy and Dinah did volunteer work at various Naval Stations and was a Navy Wife for 20 years. In later years she was employed at Grandview Manor as an administrator and accountant.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves Larry, her husband of more than 53 years; her son, Shane Skillett of Appleton City, MO; her daughter, Shannon Skillett of Belton, MO; a grandson, Weston Skillett of Appleton City, MO; 3 sisters, Linda Combes (Forrest), Lebo, KS, Barbara Hudson, Ft. Scott, KS, and Carla Stubby, Ft. Scott, KS; two brothers-in-law, Jim Skillett (Dee), Waco, TX, and Jack Skillett (JoAnn), Bentonville, AR;  numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
