David Wayne Miller, 75, of Burlington, Kansas, died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Coffey County Hospital.

He was born in Long Beach, California, to George and Florence (Nebelong) Miller on April 26, 1943. They later moved to Kansas in 1950 where he attended and graduated from Waverly High School.

After working with his father building Forbes Field in Topeka he attended Independence Community College and then the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas.

Dave had been employed as a deputy for the Franklin County Kansas Sheriff's Office, worked in the land and title business, as well as having a long history as a funeral director. He managed Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center from 1991 until his retirement in 2010.

After mastering numerous hobbies Dave returned to his true passion of flying radio controlled airplanes and was a proud member of the Northeast Kansas Blue Sky Squadron.

Dave is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Barrett) Miller of the home; his children, Shawn (Cheri) Miller, Angie (James Frizelle) Wiglesworth, Genella (Jeff) Wieland, and Berry Kistner; his grandchildren, Lake, Austin, Colin, Ryan, Tyler, Kayla, Zachary, and Stephanie; a great-grandson, Wesley; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M.
Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
