David Gene Hatch, Sr., born May 14, 1952, in Chanute, Kansas, passed from this life to the next on December 7, 2020, at the age of 68.

David was born again as an eight year old boy and surrendered to the ministry years later. He had been in the ministry for thirty-plus years, much of the time as a pastor and always as a servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved people and had unusual ways to lead them to the Lord. He drove race cars for many years and also drove a truck and worked for the local school district as a bus driver. He worked at the Arkansas Baptist Boys Ranch and used every opportunity to lead people to the Lord. David also worked most of his adult life to obtain his Doctorate of Theology which he accomplished in 2019 form Liberty Bible College and Seminary.

He met his wife, Sheryl, while attending Charis Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. They were married 14 years. They worked together serving the Lord.

His illness was a shock to all his family and friends. He will be missed dearly but remembered for his love for his Lord.

David Gene Hatch, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Gene and Charlene Hatch; a sister, Diedra Hatch; and a brother, Delbert Hatch.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl, of Toronto, KS; three daughters, Tammy Hatch of Yates Center, KS, Renee and husband Robert Droessler of Iola, KS, and Libby and husband Ryan Cullison of Yates Center, KS; a son, David Hatch and wife Pam of Huntingtown, MD; two sisters, Sharla and husband Bill Creach of Jensen Beach, FL, and Sharon Thomas of Augusta, KS; a brother Jonathan "JD" Hatch of Yates Center, KS; seven grandchildren, Michaela, Whitney, Hannah, Candice, Emberlynn, Landry, Ashlyn, and Rylan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Yates Center. Inurnment will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.
