Dale Lynn Eccles, 65, of Gridley, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dale was born on April 2, 1955 in Burlington to Leo and Freda (Shaffer) Eccles.

He grew up in Gridley and graduated from Gridley High School in 1973.

Dale worked his entire career for LeRoy CoOp Association (formerly Osborn Grain) in Gridley. He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and spent many weekends attending races in Southeast Kansas. Although Dale never had children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and- nephews as if they were his own.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alan Eccles; niece, Erica Eccles; step-father, Frank Paskin, and step-sister, Jill Paskin.

Dale is survived by his brothers, Bill (Patty) Eccles, McPherson, David (Vonda) Eccles, Chanute, Art (Denise) Eccles, Gridley; sister, Bev (Jay) Morris, Andover; sister-in-law, Nancy Eccles, Gridley; step-brother, Jeff (Billie) Paskin, Powderly, TX; step-sister, Judy (Daryl) Westerman, Piqua; 13 nieces and nephews, 32 great-nieces and- nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. Private family inurnment will be at Gridley Cemetery. Public services to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to honor him at the Humboldt Speedway on a later date; contributions may be sent to the Dale Eccles Memorial Fund in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839, or to Citizens State Bank, 410 Main St., Gridley, KS 66852.
