Cynthia Sue Garceau, 53, of rural Gridley, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.

Cynthia was born on April 26, 1965, at Montclair, California.  She grew up in Montclair and graduated from high school there. She was a mother and housewife.

She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1990, and it was there that she was married to Arthur James Garceau on March 25, 2000.  They moved to Kansas in 2006 to be near her family, and made their home south of Gridley.

Cynthia was very artistic.  She painted watercolors and landscapes.  She also did woodburning and carving of portraits.  Spare time found her playing online games.  She loved her family and was filled with joy at being a grandmother.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Johnson.

She is survived by her mother, Luella Johnson of Burlington; her husband, Arthur Garceau of the home;  her children, Justin Rodriguez and Travis Rodriguez (Erika) of Gridley, Ryan Garceau of Reno, Nevada, and Arthur Garceau, II (Kristy) and Kimberly Howe (Kevin) both of Chicago; grandchildren Zoey, Carly, Liliana, Alex, Kaitlyn and Sean; siblings Linda McElfresh (Lindsay), Steven Johnson (Gail), Ronald Johnson, Michael Johnson, Larry Johnson (Terri), and Debra Mossberg; many nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Gridley Christian Church.  Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery, west of Burlington.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 7-to-8 PM, on Friday evening, June 29, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
