Cora Sue Patterson Selby, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of faith, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by loved ones in her home, following a valiant four-year battle with cancer. Born on December 18, 1944, in Larned, Kansas, Sue's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Sue's departure on Mother's Day was symbolic of her role as the ultimate mother and grandmother. Known for her nurturing spirit, infectious laughter, and warm hugs, she brought joy to all who knew her. Whether cheering from the sidelines or brightening a room with her smile, Sue's presence was a beacon of light.

Raised in Rozel, Kansas, Sue enjoyed cheerleading during her high school years and at Dodge City Community College. A dedicated professional, she mastered the art of wallpaper hanging, leaving behind not only beautifully adorned walls but also cherished memories with her clients.

Sue's devotion to her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert (Bob) Selby, was unwavering. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter, faith, and hospitality. Sue's faith was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her commitment to Bible study, prayer, and mentoring others in their spiritual journey. Her involvement with the Navigators, Olathe Bible Church, and Clear Lake Bible Church near Nassau Bay, Texas, reflected her deep-rooted faith and desire to serve others.

Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Selby, her children Cala Selby-Stadel, Jana Saul, Paula (Howard) Saunders, and Paul (Katie) Selby, along with 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her sister Mary Keith-Stocks, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Velma (Balman) Patterson, and her siblings Harold, Roberta Ingold, Keith, Joe, Myra Bennett, and Raymond.

Sue's legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. We will gather to celebrate her life at 3 pm, June 15th at Radiant Life Church, 139 1st Terrace, New Strawn. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
