Carol Nadine Baker, 80, long-time resident of Burlington, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her home in Osage City, Kansas.

Carol was born August 5, 1940, on the Henry Hoch farm southwest of Burlington, to Leo Glen Bradford and Alvena Hoch. In 1946 the family moved into Burlington where the children attended school.

Carol graduated high school in 1958, then married Robert Marion "Bob" Baker of Hartford on June 7, 1958. While living in Yates Center, KS, Russell Ray Baker was born on July 29, 1959. Later, on September 5, 1967, Ronda Renee Baker was born.

Carol worked on the election board under Margaret Hannen for 30 years and worked for American Greeting Cards for 8 years.

She loved to work with her hands sewing and wood working as well as fishing, gardening and caring for houseplants. She enjoyed her morning coffee on the patio with her kids and her dogs who were affectionately referred to as her "special kids".

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Robert Baker; her sisters, Bonnie Paxson, Karen Wilson, and Betty Bentley; and baby brother, Larry Bradford

She is survived by her children Russell Ray "Rusty" Baker, Osage City, KS, and Ronda Renee (Randy) Gilbert, LeRoy, KS; nephew Todd Wilson of Florida; three grandchildren, Ryan Gilbert, Shyann (Mike) Bess, of Burlington, and Bryan Gilbert of LeRoy; three Great Granddaughters Chloe and Faith Gilbert and Ally Bess; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, KS. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery southwest of Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday July 21, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home.
