Carol Ionez (Ball) Ashlock, of Eureka, Kansas, passed away on November 24 ^th , 2021 in the Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 99. She was born on April 19, 1922, in rural Greenwood County, just west of Severy, Kansas to Charlie and Myrtle (Rader) Ball. On April 5 ^th , 1940, Ionez was united in marriage to True Melvin Ashlock.

Ionez was preceded in death by her husband True, son Terry Ashlock of Wichita, Kansas, and grandson Spencer Ashlock of Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by three children: Tommy Ashlock and wife Jean of Springfield, Missouri; Timmy Ashlock and wife Carmen of Bonner Springs, Kansas; and Luke Ashlock and wife Amy of Maize, Kansas. Ionez also leaves behind, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren that will carry her memory for generations to come.

Ionez was a long-time resident of Eureka, Kansas. She and True lived in the Virgil, Kansas area before moving to Yates Center, Kansas, then five years later to Eureka, Kansas, where they spent the majority of their life together. Ionez devoted most of her life to caring for her children and grandchildren, as a homemaker. Later in life she went to work at the Greenwood County Hospital for 10 years and then moved to St. James, Missouri where both she and her husband helped run a R.V. park for 10 years. When they retired, they moved back to Yates Center, Kansas. Ionez moved to Eureka in 2010 and lived in Vintage Park for the last 4 years.

Ionez loved to cook, filling everyone who visited her home with delicious warm meals, and homemade baked cakes and pies.  More importantly, she filled the hearts of her family and friends with endless love and laughter.

The memorial service will be at the South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas at 10:30A.M. on December, 10 ^th , 2021.
