Brian Duane Bishop, 60, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his home.

He was born January 14, 1965, the son of Russell Jewell and Betty Ann (Morrow) Bishop.

He grew up in Yates Center and attended the Yates Center schools.

On July 7, 1990, he and Rita Prather were married at Yates Center. They became the parents of three children and were later divorced.

Brian worked various jobs over the years including oil field work, cutting hedge posts, carpet cleaning, office furniture installation, and others.

Brian never met a stranger and enjoyed a good laugh and a good drink with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Bishop; a brother, Russell Charles Bishop; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Bishop.

He leaves his children, Shelby Bishop, Yates Center, Justin Bishop (Brittany), Stark, KS, and Makayla Thomas (Adam), Erie, KS; four grandchildren, Nova Bishop, Ellee Thomas, Brantlee Thomas, and Carson Bishop; his mother, Betty Bishop, Yates Center; his siblings, Eddie Bishop, Kansas City, MO, Randy Bishop (Christi), Yates Center, Rita L. Bishop, Burlington, KS, and Tim Bishop (Kim), Andover, KS; a sister-in-law, GiGi Bishop, Yates Center; a number of nieces and nephews; many other relatives and many friends.

There will be a private family service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Yates Center Community Building.

The public is invited to celebrate the life of Brian Bishop from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the community building.
