Betty Lea (Stroud) Winn, 96, of LeRoy, Kansas, was called to her eternal home on April 23, 2024. Betty was born on October 24, 1927, to Lee Earl and Katherine Elizabeth (Schwindt) Stroud in Viva, Coffey County, KS. After Betty graduated from high school in 1943, she attended Clark's Business School and worked at her parents' photography studio, painting black and white portraits. She also worked as a clerk at A & P Grocery, where she met the blonde-haired produce guy who would soon become her husband.

On June 21, 1947, Betty married Kenneth R. Winn in the Seaman Community Church in Topeka, KS. Kenny had started his own grocery business by that time, Kenny's Market, and the two of them worked there until they moved to the farm north of LeRoy, KS. Kenny and Betty went on to have two children, Richard Earl Winn and Teresa Lea (Winn) True.

While working together on the farm, Betty enjoyed making crafts and taking a break to play cards whenever anyone wanted.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents - Lee Earl & Katherine; her husband - Kenneth Winn; sister – Darlene; and son - Richard Winn. She is survived by her daughter - Teresa True and husband Dale, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville on Friday, April 26th, at 10 AM. Burial to follow at Big Creek Cemetery southwest of Burlington. Lunch and visitation will follow at the LeRoy Community Building. There will be no visitation.
