Betty Marie Hawkins

Born August 25, 1949, to Fenton and Opal Hoskins.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 26, 2024. Betty was born in Alva, Oklahoma, and raised in Burlington, KS where she attended school and graduated from Burlington High School in 1967.

Betty married Dennis Hawkins 05/24/1967.  To this union there were 4 children. Tony, Danny, Mandy, and Kerri.

Betty worked several different jobs over her years, she worked at the Yates Center sewing factory, Places, RCIL working to help people in their homes cleaning and taking care of them.  She always worked as someone to help and take care of others, and when she wasn't working these jobs outside the home, she was a homemaker and took care of her home and family.

She leaves behind her husband, Dennis Hawkins, children, Tony (Evelyn) Hawkins, Gridley, and Danny (Laura) Hawkins, Burlington, and her daughter, Kerri Weltha, Burlington. Siblings, Judy (Paul) Abendroth, Burlington, Lois (Duane) Walsh, St. Joseph, MO, Mary Lou (Richard), Argos, IN, Randy Hoskins, Plymouth, IN, as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fenton and Opal Hoskins, step mom Bessie Hoskins, a brother, Lonnie Hoskins, 2 sisters Alice Snovelle and Ruth Hayes, and her daughter Miranda Hawkins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 7-8 pm and the services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:30 at Jones Funeral Home, Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
