A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Barbara Ann "Bobbiann" Benjamin Daugherty was born January 15, 1945, in Helena, Montana. She died November 3, 2024, in Burlington, Kansas. A member of Mensa, she graduated as a "Who's Who" in Northern Virginia before attending Washburn University receiving her Bachelor degree. Later she earned her Master's degree from Emporia State University in Rehabilitation Counseling.
She married Clifford Buck of Cascade, Montana, and spent several years together before his death in 1989. Later, she met Jay Andrew Daugherty and they were married on March 10, 2000.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and introducing new places to her children and grandchildren while educating them on social and historical facts about the region.
She started the first RCIL in Coffey County, helping numerous people throughout the community. She was a 2000 Census Area Supervisor and a Kansas Army National Guard Drug Reduction Representative.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leona Yates Knachel and Charles Benjamin.
She is survived by Wally Benjamin of Helena, MT, James Benjamin of Helena, MT, and Donna (Chuck) Port of Missoula, MT, John Knachel of Burlington, KS, Hydie Metzger of Burlington, KS, Christopher (Sherry) Daugherty of Benton, KS, and Jennifer (Sean) Sperl of Kansas City, MO. Amongst several grand and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daugherty donated her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research.
