Anna Belle Reed, 93, of Buhler, Kansas, former resident of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler.

Anna Belle was born February 19, 1925, in Yates Center, Kansas, the daughter of Paul R. and Anna E. (Winter) Miller. She started to school in Greenwood County, KS, moving with her parents to Woodson County, KS, in 1933, where she finished elementary and high school in Yates Center.

In March of 1945, she and James Vadnais were married. Anna Belle and James devoted eight years of their lives in the Ministry of the Southern Baptist Church. James was pastor of the Southern Baptist Church in Driftwood, Oklahoma, when he died on January 18, 1961. Anna Belle and their children, Jerry and Rebecca, moved back to Yates Center.

On March 1, 1964, Anna Belle and Harold Reed were married in Yates Center. To this union two children were born, Craig and Trisha.

Anna Belle worked for U.S.D. 366 as a cook for the Yates Center schools for ten years before retiring in 1987. During her early years of retirement she worked as a librarian in the Yates Center Library and with her friend, Frances Ward, at "Frannie's".

Anna Belle and Harold moved to Hutchinson in September of 2000 to be with their daughter, Trisha, and family.

Harold preceded her in death on December 28, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant twin daughters, Kay and Joan Vadnais; four brothers, Robert, Cecil, Glenn, and Arthur Miller; three sisters, Ruth Thompson, Eulalia Miller, and Thelma Vadnais; a daughter-in-law, Linda Vadnais; and a son-in-law, John R. Stout.

She leaves her children, Jerry Vadnais and wife Beth of Wichita, KS, Rebecca "Becky" Stout of  Earlton, KS, Craig Reed and wife Krista of Winfield, KS, and Trisha Burgey and husband Larry of Hutchinson, KS; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will follow in Yates Center Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
