Joanne Beard, 94, LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, February 6, 2025, at her home.

Alice Joanne Beard was born March 25, 1930, at Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Harry Eugene and Edith Mildred (Smith) Snyder.

On June 24, 1949, she and Michael Owen, Beard, Jr. were married at Kansas City, MO. They became the parents of three sons, Shane, Patrick, and Kevin. Mike and Joanne and their family lived in Kansas City until 1972 when they moved to LeRoy and built their home.

Joanne was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, quilting, and gardening.

Mike preceded her in death on September 5, 2014. She was also preceded by her parents and her sister, Betty Emory of Kansas City Missouri.

She leaves her sons, Michael O'Shane Beard, Clearwater, FL, Patrick Eugene Beard, LeRoy, KS, and John Kevin Beard and wife Kim, Climax Springs, MO; her grandchildren, Rhiannon Trask and son Andrew, of Columbia, MO; Michael O. Beard and his wife Mindy and son Hank, of Wellsville; Patrick Erin Beard and his wife Chelsea of Emporia; Patrick Eugene Beard and his wife Sarah and son Franklin of Aliceville; Alexis Lampley and her husband Josh and daughters Madeline and Maren, of Gulfport, MS; Andrea Twaddle and her husband Spencer and son Barrett and daughter Kilian of Maryville, MO; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.

The family will meet with friends from 12:30 P.M. Friday until service time at the funeral home.
